Ben Lamb Poker Blog

Ben Lamb, born on March 31, 1985 has been a professional poker player since 2004. Living his childhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma and attending Jenks High School, he has come along way from the slow conservative Midwest lifestyle to the 24 hour high paced lifestyle of the Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevada. While he initially attended college at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, he fairly quickly learned that college was not for him. He moved back to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he became a dealer at Tulsa's Cherokee Casino (now know as the Hard Rock Casino). In his time as a dealer, he quickly learned and took a liking to poker. He became a local known poker celebrity in Tulsa's casinos as he became a poker shark there and had won several tournaments.

Back in November of 2006, Ben Lamb won not only the Pot Limit Holdem Tournament at the Cherokee Casino Fall Poker Classic, but 4 days later won the Pot Limit Omaha tournament in the Cherokee Casio Fall Poker Classic as well. With a few more notable placements in the Oklahoma State Championship of Poker 4 months later in February (2nd place in the Pot Limit Hold'em State Championship and 9th place in the Oklahoma State Championship Main Event), Ben Lamb was ready to take on Vegas.

Ben Lamb made it deep in 5 tournaments in a row at the 2011 WSOP, with the final tournament still left to be finished: 2011 WSOP Main Event. A poker run that will be talked about for years and may not be duplicated again for sometime, Lamb acknowledges that while good play is a must, without the amount of good fortune (luck) that has carried him through these past 5 WSOP tournaments, he would not have had the results he has accomplished.

Ben "Benba" Lamb somehow managed to lose the very minimum when he had KK vs AA of Darcourts in the 2011 NL Holdem Main Event. This hand could have easily knocked Ben Lamb out of the tournament, but he shows why he is a favorite now to win the 2011 WSOP Main Event.

How did Ben Lamb manage to lose the minimum on this hand? Only he knows for sure but we can all speculate....

Here is a short interview by PokerNews.com with Ben Lamb. He talks about his thoughts as a 2011 November Nine member, what he and others will do to prepare for the final table in November. With Ben Lamb being the face of the 2011 WSOP due to his great success in 5 out of the 8 tournaments he played in, he is the player to beat when the November Nine reconvenes on November 6th, 2011 to play out the 2011 WSOP Main Event.
